Q: what would you prefer? a 2006 Ford F-150 slightly barely used? or a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado used of course?
i got an offer for a red chevy silverado, 2003 that had about 20,000 miles on it, it was nice and all, the price was around $22,000. this was at a preowned dealership. at a new ford truck dealership i got an offer for a 2006 Ford F150 with around 5,000 miles only a little more on the tag, $25,000. i came out with the same amount down payment and around the same amount monthly payment…which would you have taken? the thing about this was that since i have kinda shaky credit, the first salesman was trying to get me financed like really hard, but i left his dealership with an “i’ll call you later with the results” so while i was waiting i decided to go to this dealership that i had heard alot about, in no time at all i chose the truck i wanted, financed it and while it was being washed and waxed about 6hrs. later salesman #1 calls and says he finally got me approved, to which i answered nevermind i already bought a truck, what would you have done, gone for the better deal like i did?
i felt bad afterwards for salesman #1 being as how they earn theyre paycheck by commission. but a good deal is a good deal right? dont get me wrong, the salesman at the ford dealership sold the heck out of that truck, and he earned that sale too, i just left salesman #1 with the impression that i was going to buy a truck from him….a question i ask myself is “what the hell took him so long?”
A: check the kelly blue book and see what the vechicles are worth . thats kbb.com .then you need to see what the intrest rate of each vechile loan is and what the bottom line will be at payoff.also if you are trading in make sure that you check the kbb on your trade in is . you can use this for leverage when dealing at the table.also check out what kind of warranty for each .check to see if you can tranfer the factory waranty for the ford
Q: Can I get a factory remote start for a 2005 Chevrolet 2500HD Silverado?
Buying a used 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I was wondering if you can get chevy remote start/keyless entry unit for this truck. I know they are pretty standard for 2007 and newer but do they make parts to fit the older trucks? Thanks
A: yeah you have to buy it aftermarket though
Q: What do I need to hook up subs to my factory radio in an 08 Chevrolet Silverado.?
I have some subs and an amp from my old truck and want to put them in my new truck but does anyone know what I would need to make the amp work and to push bass to my subs without turning up the bass to my regular speakers since I just want to keep using my factory radio? Thanks in advance.
A: actually the answer above is wrong, you don’t necessarily have to get that connector, most amplifiers will come with a high level input through witch you can connect the amp to the stereo by just tapping the speaker wire. I just posted explaining how to do this, here is the link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am08JqcccNGUNkgQiJUog2bsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090620121543AA0iApV&show=7#profile-info-e6ZNZbEuaa
mine is the first answer.
hope the info helps.

Q: Would you still drive a 2007 chevrolet silverado 2500HD?
Would you still have it if you weren’t actually using it as a work truck? I got one from an auction it is a crew cab, gas type, and it is an LT. They were giving it for 12,000 and that is a cheap price for that truck so I got it because who knows if a nicer truck will be auction off again. So would you still keep it if you were not using it as much for work?
A: As all big truck/SUV drivers are finding, gas is too expensive. You got the truck cheap because of high fuel costs, and yes, more will be given away in the future. A truck is great to have around, but you better think about a better MPG daily driver, unless you don’t drive a lot, then it is fine. If you don’t need it, try to sell it now and hopefully make a buck on it.
Q: How reliable is an older Chevrolet Silverado?
I’m turning 16 soon and my mom is giving me around $10,000 for for my first car what car I really want is a used Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab but what I have been noticing when searching for one on the internet is that almost all around my price range have high mileage, around 140,000. So what I was wondering is how reliable are Silverados with high mileage?
Also would it be a better choice to get one that doesn’t have the extended cab without high mileage or to get a Dodge ram 1500 quad cab (they are reasonably cheaper)?
Im lookig for around 2003 or 2004
A: I bought mine new in 1993. I now have just over 375,000 miles on it, and have not had any major engine work yet. But then, I change the oil regularly, do all the maintenance regularly, so I won’t have a problem. My answer to you is this… ask to have it check by a good mechanic of your choice before you commit a lot of money for something. It’s best to find out if the truck has been care for or abused. It’ll be worth the few bucks it’ll cost you. As far as the Silverado goes, I’ve been happy with it, its held up well, and after 16 years, still going strong.
Q: Bad Quality Sound When I Plug My IPod Nano Into AUX Input In 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Truck?
The quality is alot less vrs a CD. I am using the factory installed AUX input jack in my factory stereo and a Griffin TuneFlex. It plugs into my 12 volt lighter plug, then a cable from there to the AUX on my stereo. My IPod snaps into the Griffin TuneFlex. Any ideas on why the sound quality is so bad? Thanks for any help.
A: Other people aren’t very happy with the Griffin.

See how it sounds without the Griffin- just patch the iPod to the AUX input and run it on its own batteries. Let the iPod sit in a cupholder. Start with iPod volume low and increase until it sounds right.
Q: Chevy’s latest 0% financing deal for 60 months. Does that happen to apply to a (barely) used 2007 Silverado?
Reading the Chevrolet website, it only says 2007, it does not specify new or used. I’m just curious if I could get that free money on a slightly used vehicle as well. It would be like getting my cake and eating it too.
A: No. Sorry. new only. the used rate is 4.9 for 48mo or 5.9 for 60mo. If you can find one that you like new is a better deal with the 0 for 60 or 1.9 for 72mo.
Q: Hey please check this link out 2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 Please check it out. Is the price good! All included?
http://www.battison.com/used/Chevrolet/2005-Chevrolet-Silverado+1500-30a278ab0a0a00640167d3c45cbea9a9.htm
A: Get them down to $10,000 and I think you are good to go. That’s not a 4wd truck though. A model code that starts with CC is a 2wd truck. Be sure you know what you are looking at. And have a mechanic check it out before you buy.
You can get a 2wd with the Z71 package. Z71 is just a suspension and skid plate package. My point is that the pic shows it to be 4wd, but it is a 2wd truck.
Q: Which one: Ford F- 350 Super Duty, Ford F- 250 Super Duty, or a Chevrolet Silverado 2500?
Hello, should I get a Ford F-350 Super Duty, a Ford F- 250 Super Duty, or a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ and why? I am going to lift all of the trucks from these selections. I am also going to get all of them in diesel and brand new none of them are going to be used.
A: Ford F-250 defintely
Q: What fuel injector system does a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.7 litter truck use?
A: It’s called a CSFI(Central Sequential Fuel Injection). It was a fuel injector mounted in the center of the manifold with separate tubes to each cylinder. If i remember right 1996 was the first year it was used in the V8 full size trucks.
Q: Can an auxilIary cord be installed in my 04 Silverado?
I drive an 04 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4×4 LS. It has a Bose sound system and a 6 disc CD changer with XM Sattelite Radio. Can an auxiliary cord be installed in the head unit to play an Ipod/Iphone? I’ve used FM transmitters but not satisfied with there sound quality.
A: this is the auxiliary audio input interface made for your vehicle ( not universal )
this unit allows you to keep the xm radio
http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-296-83-pie-gm12-aux-chevrolet-2002-2007-auxiliary-input-adapter.aspx
or you can use this full ipod interface, you will have ipod controls from the factory radio and steering controls ipod text will be display on the chevrolet radio and will charge any ipod old or new
the interface also comes with a second aux audio port

good luck
Q: Installing an aftermarket CD player in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.?
Will using the wiring harness that does not retain the factory warning chimes harm anything else on the truck? A stereo shop where I live told me that the truck would not run correctly. I call bs on that but just in case. He has both wiring harnesses one is 90 bucks it keeps your factory chimes the other is 14 it does not keep them
A: pay the $90.00 , it is not only for the door chime to work
but you lose lights on warning
low fuel light warning
sometimes the airbags don’t work
and to the point that the vehicle will not start and you are going to end in the dealer paying 4 hours of labor fee just to put the vehicle on a gm scan tool and clear all the errors
all that just to save 90.00
very bad idea don’t do that
Q: WOULD THIS BE A GOOD FIRST CAR for a 16-year old? Buying and Selling?
It’s a 2000 (used) Chevrolet Silverado truck. V8 engine. It’s better than my first thought, a mustang.
ACTUALLY A CHEVROLET 1500!! NOT SILVERADO
A: mmm. i dont know
im 16 and i reccomend a safe car, and the silverado isnt, unless it is a new one.
my parents bought me a BMW X5 (5000 miles was dealer demo) and everyone though my parent were crazy for putting me behind the wheel of that car
they all said i would total it
well yup i did, i was driving to school, i live a bout 2 miles away, and i was driving down a two lane road about a mile from school. i was doing just under 50 and all of a sudden a grand am corssed the center line and hit me head on. my car was a write off, but i walked away fine. the worst injury i got was a stiff neck for two days.
the lday in the grand am was rushed to the hospital where she spend just under a month. she had a broken pelvis, arm and leg.
yes i totaled a 50 000 dollar car instead of the averdge 5000 dollar car, but it saved my life.
so basically i am saying pick something safe. i owe the fact that my life has not changed to bmw

Q: Need some good advice on a used vehicle?
I’ve been looking for a good reliable used vehicle under $10,000. I found a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 for $8,900 it has 127,524 Miles on it and it’s in good condition. Engine: 6.0L V8. I’m just wondering about others people oppinions on whether this would be a good deal.
Thanks!
A: With 127,000 miles, you’re at the point at which ANY vehicle is subject to major components and systems needing replacement. What’s going to matter most is how it was driven, maintained, and otherwise cared for. It will make all the difference in the world.
Even so, $9,000 is a BIG ask for a 9-year old vehicle that’s otherwise worth a nominal sum above salvage by virtue that it happens to still be running. It’s commercial potential as a larger truck, the relative shortage “cash for clunkers” has temporarily created, and presumably the visual condition it’s in, are the only potential points in its favor.
Nevertheless, I think you are likely to be able to do considerably better than $9,000 for a 127,000-mile 9-year old vehicle, it’s truck usefulness notwithstanding. The last thing you should strive to achieve is a vehicle so old that can still depreciate considerably, something which will happen almost overnight if fuel prices skyrocket soon.
Best of luck. I hope this helps.
Q: 2000 chevrolet silverado 4×2?
i have a 2000 chevrolet silverado with a 4.3 fuel injection. i want to put a V-8 in it. i wanna know can i still use my 4.3 transmission? will the V-8 bolt to the tranny?
A: It’ll be far cheaper to sell your V6 truck and buy a V8 model of the same vintage. It’s not the 60’s/70’s anymore, Engine swaps are much more involved these days.
