Q: What vehicles are similar to the Ford Escape?
I was wondering which vehicles are similar to the Ford Escape in terms of size, gas mileage…ect.

Q: What navigation discs will work with the Ford Escape 2006?
The first disc (CA, NV, HI) is broken to the set of CDs, and Navteq won’t replace one disc – they require you to buy a whole new set for $200. I see newer dvds on Ebay, however they are just one disc for the entire North America map. Will this work on a 2006 Ford Escape? The cd is said to come with a 2007 Ford Escape model.

A: I think the difference is you have cds (think less data per disk) and 07 is dvd based (all on one disk)…

Most of the older Navigations had to have many cds for the map information whereas the 07 used one DVD that stays installed in the player at all times.

They are wanting you to buy the whole set as the older disc you have is probably no longer available .. but yeah it sucks they don’t want to sell you what you need.

But you are kind of limited to EBAY and other sites for cds like that..Sorry

A: Generally speaking, Ford Escapes are pretty reliable. I own a 2001 with 110,000 miles on it, and have only had to replace tires and brake pads, flush the transmission and replace the air filters and buy one battery.
However- any vehicle with 173,000 miles on it (I assume that’s what you meant by 173.0000) could have dozens of nasty little problems creeping up on it. Take it to a mechanic you trust and tell him to check it over. It will cost some money, but a bad transmission will cost you thousands, and a fried engine about the same.
The price is probably very cheap (and it should be!) but you may get yourself a real bargain if you’re careful.

Q: Prediction: How much would a 2009 Ford Escape cost in 2011?
i cant drive yet, but when i can i want a 2009 ford escape.
i know there will be better cars than that, but for now that’s what i want…

Q: What is included with the 08 ford escape tow package?
The ford website says you get the hitch receiver and the wiring harness. Does it include an oil or transmission cooler? or are they standard with the v6 automatics?

I know that for the edge, the website says you get a bigger battery, upgraded coolers, etc and I figured it would say that as well if that was the case for the escape. But I was just wondering about the oil cooler (and a tranny cooler if applicable).

A: really the only other upgrade is the towing hardware, they are taking credit for the power of the v6, and the way it is built…

Q: Know how to stop a Ford Escape hybrid from beeping when being locked or unlocked?
I have a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid. When the doors are remotely locked or unlocked, the horn beeps. Is there a way to configure the remote so the horn does not sound? I find it very annoying, particularly when I am locking or unlocking the vehicle in a quiet neighorhood at night. I can find nothing in the manual about disabling the horn sound, but I am hoping someone else has faced this problem and figured out how to disable the horn sound.

A: the horn should only sound once the lock button is pressed twice. most all manufacturers do this as a convenience feature so you know it’s locked while walking away. if you just press the button once you shouldn’t have any problems. but if this annoys you take the vehicle back to the dealership and inquire with them if they can take it out of the security module’s program. it should be able to be done with a NGS (ford factory scan tool)

Q: how to improve milage and power in my 04 ford escape?
I want to improve my milage and performance in a 04 ford escape (milage being the main concern). Ive considered a performance chip, cold air intake and beefed up exaust but don’t really know who to trust. anyone know of a good site to order these things from or maybe even any other milage saving ideas???

A: firstly is this a v6 or a 4.unfortuneatly the fuel tanks are very small in these cars and if your have v6 you have no worries with power but it does get thirsty so maybe fit some extractors to go with the exhaust and run 98 octane

Q: will a performance chip really help my ford escape?
i have an 08 ford escape and as most of you prolly know, the power in the escape is terrible. i wanted to boost the hp, torque, and quicker acceleration, if i purchased a performance chip, will it help me very much at all?

A: Those things usually make small changes to the fuel trims. They claim power increases like nothing else and much better fuel economy. Fact is. On a car like the ford escape the difference isn’t gonna be anything to brag about. And it’s definitely not worth the money. Chips. Or custom tunes if you will, start making a difference when you’ve modded your car. And the more you mod it the more it’s gonna need it’s fuel trims adjusted to get the most out of your setup. They also do other things. Now if you had a turbo diesel on the other hand. They can do wonders. Adjusting boost and things like that are definitely gonna be noticeable. But like i said. On a stock naturally aspirated car it’s not worth it IMO.

How much is a replacement battery for a Ford Escape hybrid? I can’t find prices anywhere… Thanx.

A: The reason you are not able to find prices are that the Ford hybrid batteries have a minium of 8 year no charge warranty from the production date.

Q: will a 2008 pillar post for ford escape work on a 2001 model?
I just purchased a 2001 manual ford escape and I want to fancy it up a bit so will the chrome pillar post work even though they are different models?

Q: How to fix my CD player in my 2002 Ford Escape??
I got a 2002 Ford Escape and my CD player is not working right. It says I have cds in it and it will not let me ej them. Everytime Itry it says cd error. Does anyone know how to fix it or how to take it out so I can put a new cd player in it??

A: is your cd scratched well if it isnt you take out everything infront of the cd player then you pull the cd player out and there will be a couple of wires unplug them and go to the junkyard or the dealer to a cd player

Q: Should I buy the 2008 Ford Escape or 2009 Escape?
Currently Ford is offering $2500 rebate on 2008 Ford Escape. I am waiting for the 2009 Escape that is expected to hit showrooms later this summer. Do you think Ford will still be offering that kind of rebate on the 2009. Or are they just offering that kind of rebate on the 2008 because they need to make room for the 2009’s?

A: Get the 2009. Most likely, there will be a rebate, but it will not be as large. If you sell your car in around 2 or 3 Years, the 2009 will increase your resale value by some money. If you keep your car for around 10 Years, get the 2008 with the rebate.
