Q: where can i find a chevy truck for sale?
tahoe, or chevy shortbed side step

A: Just check the newspaper. They got all kinds of deals in the newspaper.

Q: I’m trying to decide if I should buy a Chevy Tahoe or a Ford Expedition. Which is better?
I’m wanting to buy a used vehicle and I don’t know which one people would recommend. There are lots of both vehicles for sale so I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Right now I have a Saturn VUE and it’s just not big enough for my family. Please help me.

A: Which gas guzzler do you prefer? Those two vehicles drink gas like a thirsty dinosaur…….best bet is to check out the JD Power survey for the year of the vehicle you are looking at and look at the pros and cons of each vehicle. JD Power will give you the quality aspects of each vehicle, the pros and cons….they are well respected in the auto industry….personally I would call about 4-5 repair shops on the phone and ask the mechanics which vehicle has the most repairs/problems…..that is also a good gauge.

Q: Serious questions about buying a Chevy Tahoe…advice!?
Im looking to buy a Chevy Tahoe and i came upon a 1997 2 door for sale. While examining this 4 speed automatic transmission, i noticed while shifting from nuetral to overdrive, it hesitated for about 3 seconds before going in to gear. What does this mean? The shifting handle is very loose, it has about 2 inches of play..is this expensive to fix?

Also, I noticed it will not go into 4 wheel drive low while the engine is on, on any gear even park. Is there a reason why this would be like that?

The power steering pump does not work, is this a big job to replace?

While the engine is idling, I noticed the oil pressure is about 50 PSI and when excelerating to about 1500 or more RPMs the oil pressure drops down to about 30PSI, and the engine vibrates. Is this normal?

A: The fine people of New York city have a wonderful expression that captures this situation perfectly. It’s “fuggedaboutit”. You should!!
The first question always to ask about a vehicle is …what task do you want it to do? If you are going to tow alot, get thee to a diesel.

Q: Anyone want a chevy tahoe? I want to sell my SUV and I dont know where to start! Please help?
I have a 97 chevy tahoe and I want to sell it for at least 4500.00. It has a salvage title because of an accident i had and the year of the truck pretty much made it a done deal as far as being repaired. I found a shop to do the repairs and was quoted 2000.00 including a new paint job. Does anyone know where i can post it for sale? Or sale it right out?

I cant do CARMAX since it has a SALVAGE title :>(

A: I would start by thowring a for sale sign on it and put in the local newspaper then follow it up by putting in on craigslist and kijiji and i’d wait a little bit and see what kind of offers you’d get and worse comes to worse theres always ebay but I’d try to avoid ebay becasue who wants to pay to advertise when you go so many free options

Q: What is considered an AWESOME deal for a 2008 Chevy Tahoe?
Okay,
I am interested in a new 2008 Chevy Tahoe LTZ 2WD. It is fully loaded (Navigation, DVD, the works)

The vehicle price is $50,000 but they are having a “Red tag sale” saying I pay only $40,000. Although this sounds pretty good…I just think it could go lower.
My question is: I hate buyers remorse….so, how much LOWER can I haggle??
What is the dirt cheapest I could offer and they’d go for it?
Does anyone know if this redtag sale is their bottom line?
People with car sales experience…Please help!!
10 points to best answer!!! :)

Thanks a bunch!

A: Before you buy this vehicle go on kbb.com and see what the suggested retail value is on the vehicle (which is what the dealer should sell it for) then go back and see what the trade in value is (which is what a dealer SHOULD give you for it if you trade it in). Look how much money you lose. The best thing I’ve heard from a car dealer is that kelly blue will never give you money for your vehicle. They will never write you a check for it. So basically look at the trade in value and knock a couple thousand dollars off of that. You lose a ton of money. The market for SUV’s and trucks have crashed since the economy and gas prices and car dealers are ripping people off left and right. You may think you’re getting a decent deal but in reality if you go to trade that vehicle in you are losing so much money. I bought an SUV last winter. It had very low miles and was in great condition. I had it for only 3 months before I could no longer afford to fill it and I went to trade it into the same dealership I bought it from and I could not believe what they offered me for it. I paid 4 times what they offered me for it only 3 months before. Please be careful. I still have the SUV because I was not going to lose all that money. But here I am stuck in a gas guzzler. Think long and hard before you make that kind of investment. A car dealer is not going to tell you that they are ripping you off. I will say that if you do decide to go ahead with it, then a chevy tahoe is the best option as far as SUV’s go. My husband is a mechanic and they rarely make their way into the shop except for routine maint. They tend to be very reliable. If you’re going to buy the vehicle don’t ever settle with the price on the tag. Car dealers always set their prices high in order to have room to work with. Make them a rediculous offer. They will come back with something and see where you can settle. Good luck!

Q: will these wheels and tires fit my chevy tahoe?
315/75r16 pro comp xterrain tires on american racing
rims size are 8-16.. i have a stock suspension, 2001 chevy tahoe LT 4×4. i was wondering if these wheels will fit my truck without having to put a lift kit on it. well these wheels are for sale on craigslist but i want to know if they’re gonna fit before i buy them… here is the link of where they’re selling these wheels. http://reno.craigslist.org/pts/174816373…
please, and thank you!!

http://reno.craigslist.org/pts/1748163734.html

A: Not even close. Those tires are 35″ tall and 12″ wide, your stock tires are about 30″ tall, maybe 31. You would need a moderate lift of 3-4″ minimum to clear those tires, among other modifications.

Q: Chevy Tahoe or Dodge Durango?
I am buying my first car in 12 years. I haven’t applied for any credit in this time so my credit score is low based on not having much. This hinders my buying power. I would like a small car, but I have 5 kids and I need a car that can seat 7. I am getting a great deal on financing, ( over 15% lower than the other dealers) but it is a Saturn dealer and my choices in used cars has been narrowed down to a Dodge Durango and a Chevy Tahoe. They are both 2005. The Durango has 19,000 miles and the Chevy has 51,000. The Chevy is more expensive and has a smaller engine (The dodge has a Hemi). The Dodge seems like a better deal off the top, but the review are better for the Chevy. I am doing this on my own so I could really use some advice. I am trying to keep my payment below $400 a month and these may not be the only options, but so far they are the best. BTW I am getting either one of them about $4000 below blue book. (As listed for dealers and right on with private party sales)

A: I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Hemi in it. I bought it because I thought that it would be cool to have the Hemi, but honestly I can’t tell that much of a difference. The Tahoe is a whole lot safer, too.

Q: Legal question…I bought a 2002 Chevy Tahoe for 16.5 K?
from a used car dealer. We registered it and insurured it. We paid 900.00 on sales tax. I went and got pictures for the insurance company. Then I took it to get a sticker and it didnt pass. It needed brakes and one air shock. We brought it back, the guy we bought it from said he cant afford to fix it, so we have to pay half. Now this car has a 30 day warranty, it should of been looked at before we bought it. I have 3 children and not alot of time and money to get my money back and wait for the 900.00 for the sales tax and no time to look for another one. I have been driving my husband pickup truck and it has screwed my whole wk up because i have to get him from work. What can I legally do in this situation?

A: you bought the car as is and with all faults, however since you bought it at a dealership he is responsible for a current inspection sticker. (If it was not current in the month you bought it – he would have to pay to bring it up) -
You said you have a 30 day warranty – what does it cover?

Q: Chevy headlights online?
I have a chevy tahoe. 97 i need to buy new headlights w/ assembly looking for performance but not too much , want something legal? What are the regulations?where could I buy these online for a good price possibly on sale , today’s supposedly cyber Mondayaybe they have some does any one know ?going on vacation and traveling 25 hrs straight without stopping so I need this .

A: go to the junkyard

Q: Which SUV is the best?
My husband and I are looking into trading our pickup for a used SUV because our 2008 Silverado uses too much gas and doesn’t have enough room. Our concern is back seating space for passengers, saving on gas, how long the SUV will last and space for strollers and other baby things. We are buying from Ebay because they are rated for each sale. Our friends say a Tahoe is perfect while I enjoy a Jeep even though everyone tells me don’t put your trust into one. We don’t want a Ford of any kind. So our choices are BMW X5 for speed (we have a 330i and love how fast they are), Chevy Tahoe for space and how long Chevys have lasted us, and Jeeps just because for some reason I’m very attracted to Jeeps. There are other SUV types but I don’t know anyone who owns them so I don’t have an opinion.

We only have one child right now so we just need one that’s good for traveling with his baby things and our things as well as carrying passengers and saving on gas.

Your thoughts and experiences?

A: If are you willing to consider other SUV’s, I would take a look at the Kia Borrego. The Kia Borrego (a.k.a ‘Kia Mohave’ in Korea) was selected as the “Best Kept Secret” by Autobytel.com and has been named the top-rated ‘SUV $25,000-$35,000’ in the Edmunds.com Consumers’ Top Rated Vehicle awards. The Borrego earned strong marks from consumers for its overall excellent value, along with impressive power and towing capacity, interior space, visibility, fuel economy and extensive list of standard features. The Borrego comes standard with third row seating, so there’s plenty of room for your growing family. The Borrego was designed by automotive designer Peter Schreyer (who now works for Kia), former chief designer for Audi (He designed the Audi TT). Also, The Borrego received four and a half stars out of five from Edmunds.com..

Also, if you are concerned about Kia, I would not be, In 2004, Hyundai/Kia tied with Honda for initial brand quality in a survey/study from J.D. Power and Associates, for having 102 problems per 100 vehicles. This made Hyundai/Kia second in the industry, only behind Toyota, for initial vehicle quality. The company continued this tradition by placing third overall in J.D. Power’s 2006 Initial Quality Survey, behind only Porsche and Lexus. Hyundai/Kia Automotive Group is the world’s fourth largest automaker (second in Asia) and one of the Big Asian Four (with Toyota, Honda and Nissan).

In recent interviews with Toyota executives, they have expressed concerns about Hyundai/Kia and their market share. Hyundai-Kia is the only automobile manufacturer that Toyota fears – and that says something. Kia is also moving up in sales rapidly, even quicker than Hyundai due to their improving quality and design (hired the head designer from Audi about two years ago). Hyundai-Kia is the fastest growing foreign brand in China and is the largest exporter of cars in India (Hyundai has plants in both countries). Hyundai-Kia was the only major automaker to sell more vehicles in 2009 than 2008.

Q: Car repo and a collection agency?
In 2006 I bought a 2005 Chevy Tahoe with 9,000 miles on it paid 27k after taxes fees ect, was 38k new. My loan was 27k and the payments were 500 bucks a month for 5 years. After 6 months driving the dang thing the transmission went out and it cracked a engine too. Estimate to get this fixed is around 7k so I took it to back to the dealership i bought it from to see if they can help they said nothing they can do because on the purchase agreement I opted not to purchase the warranty it said AS-IS. I got several other estimates 6-8k was the norm. I even took it to an attorney nothing they could do. So i put it up for sale agreeing to fix it, I only could get at most 15k now the gas prices went up after paying 6k to get it fixed I would be out 16k. make matter worse I lost my job so I fell behind on the payments and the SUV got repoed at the end of 2006. I have not heard a thing about this until now, My bank was WAMU but I heard they went under so I have this new company Portfolio Recovery Associates called my. This guy Mark Francis was nasty as can be he demanded 29,000 for the defency of my balance owed. They told me that they bought WAMU so now I owe them. They are demanding a payment plan. I was ok then you can bring me a new Tahoe, he laughed and called me a deadbeat and if I dont take care of this they will sue and garnish my wages. I asked him how are you comming up with that, he then said they sold your truck for cheap plus add up your monthly pentalies, repo costs, intrests and collection efforts then walla you owe 29,138. Now the phone has been ringing daily and getting messages from this guy. I got a letter It just stated we now own this account orginal WAMU….. Portfolio Recovery Associates xxxxx. I am barely making ends meet here would and need some advise.

A: Wow it seemed like you got screwed now you have one of the nastiest bottom feeder debt collection agencies on the planet down your neck. Portfolio Recovery Associates is noted as one of the most unethical collection agencies on the planet that is the norm to call people dead beats. The good thing for you is that they have a hard time proving the proper documents, hence the magical number of 29,138. All they do is buy this bad debt from WAMU now Chase with only the account # and dollar amount maybe a little documentation. With this large amount of debt I would seek legal help such as an attorney in consumer law or FDCPA. I would not make contact with them until you have spoken to an attorney. Making a payment plan with them would open a can of worms in agreeing to there terms.

I have for sale a good old Ford Truck it is 4×4 it has the 5.0 engine with Automatic transmission. It only has 106,000 actual miles it does have an exhaust leak on the drivers side manifold but other than that its a pretty good old truck. It does have the normal ford rust. It is push button 4×4 and I just put brand new dual exhaust on it. A: id go with the 75 chevy its the easiest one to work on and i would stay away from the grand am they are total junk

Q: The truck/SUV industry is hurting, then why the Tahoes?
I thought the truck/ SUV industry ws hurting due to high gas prices…….but i’ve noticed that lots of people are now owning the new chevy Tahoes? For instance, the Chevy dealership near my home had about 10 of the new tahoes avail, a few mos ago……. just last week they sold out!??? I dont get it. these trucks do maybe 15-18 mpg on the highway….gas mileage sucks! and supposedly dealerships are hurting on suv/ pu truck sales……so how is it the tahoe is saleing so well???……. I’m only asking bc i intended on buyin a tahoe next yr. assuming they would be a steal bc the demand would go down due to high fuel cost…..but from what I’m noticing….that’s not the case.

A: some people actually need large vehicles. really, they actually NEED them. plus some tahoes are now hybrids.
