Q: Can I add a factory remote starter to my 2010 Cadillac SRX after purchase?
I did not purchase the package that included the remote starter, but my key has the button for it.

A: Yes, you can have Best Buy do it for you or you can do it yourself. I recommend letting them handle the job as the Caddy’s ECU and such are a bit more complicated that some vehicles out there. I have one on my Avalanche and love it.
It will run you about 200 for the simple model if they do the work. Mine has the locking capabilities as well.

Q: I have a 2011 Cadillac SRX that has a strong and annoying interior smell, does anyone else have this problem?
The smell is so strong that it caused my daughter to develop migraine headaches. Also uncomfortable headaches for the rest of my family.

A: A 2011?? HMMMM… That car would be at the dealers in the morning.

Q: Have narrowed my new vehicle down to a 2011 GMC AWD terrain, or a 2010 Cadillac SRX turbo premium AWD. Advice?
I really like the Terrain, but wonder if I would be happier with the ride/handling of the Cadillac. I usually trade every 3 years, and am worried I would lose too much money going with the Cadillac.

A: The Cadillac is nice, very and yes, you will lose a lot of money on the Cadillac if you trade in 3 years unless you go with the base model…and I doubt you could find one. It does have around 35 hp more and it’s eye candy to the crossover enthusiast.

The Terrain though both are made by gm is quite the different car. The quality and sophistication along with the technologies are quite different in the 2 cars.

The Caddy would be better compared to the Lexus, BMW and Mercedes crossovers….even the Porche Cayenne as this comparison is quite unfair to the Terrain IMO.

Q: Do you think that the Cadillac SRX is a car that is meant mainly for women?
Well, I’ve been thinking about this car for a while. However, I’ve been told by a few people that it’s a woman’s car. Thanks for the feedback.

A: It does seem to be marketed towards women, much like the Ford Probe was.
However, in my opinion, unless the vehicle is painted pink with flower decals – or camoflaged complete with a 12″ lift and tractor tires – it really doesn’t have a gender.

A: That’s because it is a Buick Enclave with a few minor changes to it. But the car is basically a Buick Enclave or Saturn Outlook. Same car… different body

Q: I have a cadillac SRX 2004, and I would like to put some custom touches on it, like tail lights or headlights.
But I cant find many places that sell custom aftermarket products for this car…. I want something that is different, but still classy looking – know where I can get these?

A: The headlights on your SRX are sealed beam and there are no afetrmarket options for them. The same goes for the tail lights, they’re LED already, and there’s no modifications for them. Try doing a custom grille, or something off of these sites:

Q: Oil on Spark plugs of Cadillac SRX?
I have a Cadillac SRX 4.6 liter North Star engine. What can cause the plugs under the coil pack to keep getting oil on them causing them to misfire?

A: This is a common problem with overhead cam engines… I’ve worked on North Stars for quite some time now and going off past experience I would say that your spark plug tube seals are dry and worn out…These are just small round rubber seals that are supposed to keep the oil from the camshafts from entering the spark plug tubes…Over time these seals become dry, brittle and warped and oil is then able to past by and enter spark plug tubes…I’m not sure if you’re looking for a quick fix but in order to replace those seals, you’ll have to remove the camshaft covers…

I´m thinking of buying, but current model has been around for a long time. Maybe there´s a website with information for all car models?

A: Yes, there are quite a few websites that feature virtually all production vehicles (also try an internet search for “car research”) to research and/or purchase.

The SRX will have a redesigned interior for 2007, but probably won’t have a major exterior redesign until at least the 2008, 2009, or even not until the 2010 model year.
