Q: What should I Check in my new toyota camry in terms of the recalls?
I just bought a 2007 Toyota Camry LE V6, I was wondering if there was anything specific I should have checked out in my car, I am the second owner and I’m not sure if the first owner had done anything about the recalls or had anything fixed. If you know, please share.

A: Also check for TSB’s on it, Technical Service Bulletins. They’r a big issue w/ all vehicles

As well as checking w/ dealer, u can search ur VIN online adding: + recalls , or, + tsb , using the + sign.

See wat kinda Toyota Factory Warranty [not third party from an unknown company] u can get. They’r transferrable, so maybe u got previous owner’s.

Last time I checked w/ Toyota yrs ago, eligiblity goes by what year the vehicle is and the miles.

Call bout 3 Toyota dealer finance managers, cuz u’l likely get dif answers… & prices if ur eligible. They mite require pre-warranty vehicle check by dealer, bout $100.

I’d get the most inclusive bumper-to-bumper warranty Toyota offers, not power train.

B4 u buy, geta copy from Finance manager & study it for cost, coverage, exclusions, limits, definitions, etc, etc.

Next time, research recalls, tsb’s, warranties, etc etc b4 u buy.

I have a 1992 Toyota Camry that has upwards of 317K miles on it. About three days ago, when applying the gas from a stop (a stop sign, turning a corner ) the car shudders and shakes severely before shifting…you can alleviate this by letting off the gas much as you would a standard transmission, but this is an automatic. I don’t have a lot of money just now to stick it in the shop, and was wondering if anyone could give me advice? The transmission fluid is good.

A: I have an old accord that used to do that. Take it to a repair man just to see what’s wrong with it. I remember it was something very minor and inexpensive…I just can’t remember what was actually wrong with it. That was 5 years ago and that car still runs like its brand new.

A: That’s a great price, but probably a fake one. Sounds a lot like spam to me. Did you find it on Craigslist? There are a ton of fraudulent sellers posting vehicles for insanely low prices, and the $2960 price tag looks suspiciously like one of their tricks (most sellers don’t list cars for strange amounts like that). Either a bad seller or a bad title. Check the facts first and always deal in person!

A: Well, first you didn’t say what year of Camry. They have been slowly growing in size over the years.

But the truth is it does not matter what size the car is, a good driver will adjust and learn the distances of the vehicle. It may feel big at start, but you’ll get used to it within 3 or 4 weeks. Any car you drive will feel funny for the first few weeks.

A: The next redesign will probably be in another 2-3 years. Typically there is a 5 year model change with Toyota. The current model was new for the 2007 model year. I don’t see much of an advantage to getting a 2008 if there is a $14K difference in a year, and it’s basically the same car.

Go with the slightly used 2007 model, if I were you.

A: Toyota employees more than 7000 ppl in the USA. I work for Toyota and we have almost that many at the plant I work at and that doesn’t include all of the other companies in our area that builds parts for our plant. The plant in Kentucky employees even more than the plant I work at. You also have to figure in the plants in Tx,WV, Ala,Tenn. and so on. The Ford Fusion is built in MEXICO,the Monte Carlo and Charger are built in CANADA and I didn’t have to ask DW for that fact.

Q: How much would YOU pay for a 1996 Toyota Camry in excellent condition if you knew it had been in an accident?
I got hit in the parking lot, and it damaged the headlight and turning signal. It bent the front reinforcement bar, so the headlight doesn’t sit quite right, but the car is in otherwise excellent condition. Low miles(123,000), maintained at a toyota dealership, no smoking, perfect condition interior. It gets 24mpg in the city, and still has all the stock parts/not modified at all.

I recently purchased an AUTOMATIC 2009 Toyota Camry LE. This car is NOT SEMI-AUTOMATIC but does have the lower gears of 4, 3, 2, and 1 under D. Is it okay to use these gears regularly to manually shift the engine? If so, at what rpm would you recommend shifting up and down?

A: No, it is not OK nor necessary; the automatic transmission was invented so that the driver need not manually shift the trans :]

i own 2007 toyota camry LE 4 cylinder. is it worth it to change it to full synthetic 5w-30? i’ve been using just regular 5w-30. what’s the difference? save gas mileage? better for the engine? please reply back. thanks.

A: Both of the above posters are correct in what they are saying about the synthetic oils, however be sure that your Toyota uses 5w30 instead of 5w20. The oil cap on my ‘07 Camry says 5w20 and I use Pennzoil synthetic in mine. I’ve had good luck with Pennzoil, but Mobil or any other oil brand is also good…..Hope this helps!

Q: How to fix a door lock on 96 toyota camry?
I have a 96 toyota camry.
my back right side door cannot be opened from outside.
yesterday one of my friend accidently put the child lock and closed the door.

1. Is there a way to disable child lock without opening the door so that I can atleast open from inside.
2. Is it possible and easy to fix/replace the ourside door lock with the door closed?
