Q: How do I install my new MTX Amp and Subs to my 2010 Ford Fusion S?
I’m trying to figure out how to pretty much “make” the wiring for my amp. I have the BOSS 8-Gauge Installation Kit; now I’m just trying to figure out how to finish making the wires.. And then after that I am also trying to get some help or be pointed in the right direction for installing it into my new Ford Fusion S.. (It’s factory radio and all)… Any help!?!?
A: First thing, your not giving nearly enough information, but i will answer your question. I have no idea what you mean by saying “make” the wires? what MTX amp did you get and what Subs did you get? But anyway I assume that you mean how do you prep the kit for installation. First you should have a “Power Wire” it will be the longest fattest gage wire in the kit. Next you have a “Ground Wire” probably black and maybe 2-3 feet long. After that “Remote Turn On Wire” this is a long and tiny usually blue wire, regardless of the color it will be the longest and smallest wire in the kit. After that you need a set of “RCA’s” they should be in the kit but Boss is not a very good brand and you might have to buy them separate. Also included in the kit should be a fuse block. Because you are planning on using your factory head unit, you will have to purchase an LOC, “Line Output Converter”. After you get all of your supplies you are ready to prep your install.
Step by step install:
1: Locate battery on vehicle and disconnect the Negative wire. (The wire on the – side of the battery)
2: Find a place to run your power wire and run it from the battery, through the firewall, down the trim to the bottom left of the drivers seat, to the desired location of the amp, (DO NOT CONNECT THE POWER WIRE AT THIS TIME!)
3. Go to the location where the amp will be installed (also the place you want to install the subs) find a spot in the carpet close enough for the ground wire to reach the amp easily and cut a small X in the carpet with a razor blade, get down to the metel.
4: With a piece of sandpaper sand down to bear Metal on the spot you cut the X.
5. Take a ring terminal and crimp one end of the ground with it.
6: With a small “self tapping” screw and two star washers, place one washer on the screw then the screw through the ring terminal on the ground, then the last washer after the terminal.
7: Take a power drill and drill the self tapping screw into the sanded X in the carpet and set your ground.
8: After the ground is in place, screw it into your amp in the ground terminal.
9: Screw the Power wire into the amp on the 12V or Power terminal.
10: Cut the power wire about a foot from the battery.
11: After removing the fuse from the fuse block, connect one end to the amp side of the power wire and the other end to the battery side.
12: Crimp a ring terminal onto the battery side of the power wire and connect it to the power terminal of the battery.
13: Remove your factory radio.
14: T-tap the left rear and the right rear speaker wires, positive and negative of both.
15: Connect the left and right speaker leads of the LOC to the T-tapped speaker wires.
16: Connect the RCA’s to the RCA outputs of the LOC and run the RCA’s to the amp.
17: T-tap a 12V switched wire and connect your remote wire to it.
18: Run the remote wire with the RCA’s (MUST RUN RCA WIRES ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF VEHICLE THAN POWER WIRE)
19: Connect the RCA’s to the terminals on the amp and connect the Remote wire to the terminal on the amp.
20: After everything is securely connected, place fuse in fuse block.
21: Reconnect the Ground wire to the battery.
22: ENJOY YOUR NEW SYSTEM (if you installed correctly)
Q: I just leased a new Ford Fusion, does this help the US economy more than if I had leased a new Toyota?
I read that the Fusion is built in Mexico and has components made from all over the world. But i’m just curious if this helped the US economy more than perhaps leasing an new toyota, or Volkswagen, etc. Thanks!
A: Well you helped Ford take your money, in return you got an inferior product that will require many more repairs and trips to the garage than if you purchased a Toyota or Honda. Don’t believe in that “buy american” crap. Domestic automakers have been playing that scam for far too long on the american consumer. Making you think its your patriotic duty to buy domestic. The domestic automakers don’t care about you which is why they have been building inferior cars for so long. Thankfully people have grown wise to the scam and its showing in very poor sales of domestic cars. Leasing a Fusion, you screwed yourself over while the money that went into Fords pockets is just a grain of sand in the desert. Your money will have no effect at all on the economy, but it will affect your personal financial situation.
Q: Where is the antenna on the new Ford Fusion?
If you see one of these cars there is no visible antenna. I know in the 70s for a while they used to put antennas in the windshileds, but since they didn’t give good reception, they stopped doing it.
A: rear window above the defroster
Q: What do you all feel about the new Ford Fusion?
Do you like the body style, performance, and the chrome grill?
A: Ford has finally came up with a winner, besides the Mustang of course. The Fusion is a nicely equipped vehicle, and the perfect size and price range for all. As a matter of fact, you will now see the Ford Fusion in NASCAR. I most definetly think Ford has another winner on their hands!! P.S. Good fuel economy as well.
Q: What you think about the new Ford Fusion 2010?
I like the sport edition with the 3.5L engine. I don’t know too much about cars bu this one call my attention.
A: This is one hot car — a 3.5L Duratec V6 engine with 263 Horsepower @ 6250 rpm and a Torque of 249 (lb.-ft.) @ 4500 rpm
Capped with a 6-speed SelectShift Automatic you can get the following gas milage:
FWD (Sport) 18 mpg city/27 hwy.
AWD (Sport) 17 mpg city/24 hwy

Toss in the Sony stereo with the Dolby DAEP 5.1 Surround Sound technology and Sony DSP processing, 390 watts of power, and 12 high-quality premium speakers including two subwoofers. It comes with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer (single disc CD player with available Navigation System) and is, of course, MP3-capable and you will have one rocking ride!
Q: I bought a new Ford Fusion 6 weeks ago. When should I wax it and what kind of wax should I use?
The finish is Dark Pearl Blue Clear Coat.
A: i am a car freak and LOVE a shiny new looking car and since your car is NEW this is the best time to get into the waxing/washing tasks. me having waxed my cars at least once a week love the results and since i just got a used car since i started waxing it, it looks much better
so i would really recommend waxing your car once a week if u want a brilliant shine forever. once every month is prolly good for the average person (not into cars alot) though so yeah i would say once a month.
and i always use turtle wax
NOW just to clarify i only use paste wax on my car once every 6 months other than that i just use the express wax =)
Q: How can I buy the new Ford Fusion? (oversea??)?
I live in Hong Kong,China, and i really like the new Ford Fusion 2010, can i buy it oversea from Ford?
A: only buy a car which has a distributor near you. my friend drove a Ford Sierra in Trinidad, where there are no distributors and I had to ship spare parts from the UK. it must have been the most expensive-to-maintain car ever!
surely there is a Ford dealer in Hong Kong?

Q: Should buy a new Ford Fusion or a new Volkswagen Jetta?
They are almost the same price with about the same financing opportunities. The main difference is that the Volkswagen has a 2 year maintenance free program.
A: the Jetta
get the TDI if you can afford it
Q: how is the new ford fusion holding up in mileage and safety rankings?
I am considering buying one of the SE styles. How are the ratings for this car?
A: The 2007 Fusion has very good safety ratings. Consumer Reports gave it the top rating in safety. Mostly because they added airbags on the side standard.
Mileage? Not so great. My V6 SEL Fusion is only averaging about 18.5 mpg in real world driving. My driving is mostly a mix of about 50% city and 50% expressway. I’ve heard the 4 cylinder does quite a bit better.
Q: Has anyone seen the new ford fusion and noticed its similarity to the accord?
Esp the taillights. They look almost look exactly like a modded ‘93-’97 accord ricer or some rare ‘93-’97 stock accord si. If our american cars are doing so bad, why dont we make more reliable and cleaner cars instead of stealing good japanese cars?
A: Our car companies can’t get ahead because of over reliance on endless new MBA’s instead of REAL wrench turning thinkers and old-style car designers, more concern with fat bonuses and self-congratulations to undeserving top execs who don’t really care about their product and endless whining by American unions and union labor. Every time American car companies make progress, these forces combine to destroy it. So, it’s easier to copy the succesful Japanese and even the Koreans. Ironically, the Japanese are copying Harley-Davidson in Motorcycle design so that it’s often difficult to tell the difference any more.
Q: What is the song in the new ford fusion ad?
the commercial is a short clip about a guy advertising the new “smartgauge” and the song is some folksy indie tune
help??
A: Check on Youtube
Q: What is your opinion on Ford’s new Fusion?
I work at a dealership and am curious on the public’s opinion of the Ford Fusion. It has been getting a lot of hype since they started running it in Nascar.
By the way, I figured I should let you all know that I sell them, but I would like to know how the public views this unique vehicle.
A: i dont care for them .. they are made by ford .. need i say more
Q: For roughly the same money should I buy a certified used 2007 Prius or a new 2010 Ford Fusion?
I’m torn between the money savings in the Prius and the fun in driving the Ford Fusion (Has Sync and handles better).
A: Ford Fusion for sure,.
Q: bluesy song that’s played on the new Ford Fusion 2010 commercial?
Just a few piano notes at the end?
A: Kris Allen – Alright With Me

Q: Anyone drive/drove the new Ford Fusion?
Is the Ford Fusion really better than the Camry and Accord?
How does it compare to the new Maxima?
A: I’ve been driving the 2007 V6 SEL Fusion for about 2 weeks now.
3 negatives in comparison with the Camry:
1. Gas milage sucks. Take those EPA figures and throw them out the window. I drive about 50% expressway and 50% normal city and my milage is about 18 mpg. EPA said 20 in city and 28 highway.
2. Camry V6 is bigger, more powerful and has better torque and better gas milage.. The two cars weigh roughly the same. You do the math. Toyota just knows how to build great engines that outperform Fords in fuel economy.
3. Wide turning radius. About 6 feet wider than the Camry
On the positives:
1. Fusion looks awesome.
2. Very roomy. Lots of leg room front and back, even with the front seats pushed all the way back.
3. Bigger trunk
4. Much more fun to drive. Good road feel.
5. The fit and finish seem to be excellent. In the two weeks I’ve owned, it, I have yet to find any kind of a flaw, either mechanically, the exterior, or in overall quality. You know how some cars, the tolerances between pieces don’t seem right? None of that on the Fusion. Everything looks and fits just right.
Considering it is assembled in Hermosillo, Mexico, they did an awesome job. My hat off to the Mexican assembly line workers. All I can say is, “Gracias. Gran trabajo.”
Jay (below me here) is dead on, except the Fusion has more interior space.
