Q: How do you program a keyless remote on a Hyundai sonata 2008?
I have a Kia remote that was given to me at time of purchase at a Bruce Titus Hyundai dealership, and I was told it could be programmed for my Sonata. I have looked online for instructions and I have only seen domestic vehicles listed. With Hyundai’s are there ignition and door lock procedures combined with remote procedures to program, or is it some kind of operation that can only be done at the dealer with high tech tools?
A: I work for a dealer and it has to be done using hyundai equipment
Q: How to convince my dad to buy a Hyundai Sonata?
My dad hates Hyundai’s because he had a bad experience with one when he bought an Elantra in 1997… but I love the sonata and I really really want one… Is there anyway I can logically and successfully changed my dad’s mind?
A: Easy, buy a copy of Consumer Reports Auto Magazine and then take him for a test drive in the new Sonata. If you have a mom take her, she can nag your dad about how nice the Sonata is until he caves in if need be.
Q: When is the Hyundai Sonata getting the Theta II engine?
I recently passed my road test and my dad is going to buy a new car for himself and give his old one to me. He says he’s waiting for the Hyundai Sonata to start being built with the new Theta II engine but I can’t find any information online about when that is going to happen. Does anyone know?
A: The new Sonata’s engine is the Theta 2 with Direct Injection technology.
Q: Is it worth it to exchange my 2008 Hyundai Sonata for a 2010 Hyundai Sonata?
I currently have a 2008 Hyundai Sonata with 22000 miles on it (not a lease). I have been driving it for around 3 years. The local dealership has an exchange program now in which Hyundai owners can trade their current models with 2010 models. Do you think it is a good idea to exchange my current car?
A: Not unless you like losing money. They probably wont give you as much in a trade in as you owe.
Q: How many miles will a 2002 Hyundai Sonata last?
Hi, I’m looking at a car for a teenager and I saw a 2002 Hyundai Sonata, is it a good car? Do you know how many miles they last? It has 148,000 miles so far.
Thanks!!!
A: Take care of it, repair what need to be repaired… this car as well as any can last forever. Some day you may need to decide if the repairs cost to much to keep maintaining the car.
Q: Size difference between Hyundai Sonata and a Honda Civic?
Hi.
I think my dad is trying to buy a new car, and he seems to have
a 2006 Hyundai Sonana in mind. As of now, I would personally
prefer him buying a Civic, but Civics look smaller than
Sonatas to me. Can someone tell me which is the bigger car?
If the Civic is not that smaller than the Sonata or they’re pretty
much the same size, I’d ask him to consider buying the
Civic instead. Have a nice day.
A: The Sonata is larger and has more safety features then the Civic with just as good of reliability ratings for the same price. The Civic gets better gas mileage and will cost a bit less to maintain as parts are super easy to find as well as depreciates slower. Here’s a comparison, http://www.edmunds.com/apps/nvc/edmunds/VehicleComparison?styleid=100933857&styleid=100886113&maxvehicles=5&refid=&op=3&tab=specs
Q: Are the back speakers in a 2003 hyundai sonata component?
I want to buy new back speakers for my 2003 hyundai sonata and I’m not sure what i need to buy. help please?
A: I don’t have an 03 Sonata but most of the time rear speakers aren’t components. I forget the technical word for them but most likely they are the “all in one” type speakers.
If you don’t see any separate tweeters anywhere in the back then they aren’t components
Q: How would you compare the 2006 Hyundai Sonata to the 2007 Toyota Camry?
I am considering the two cars as my top two options but I can not decide. I want the 2.4L Engine model’s for both cars with leather interior. Sonata is cheaper but it is a Hyundai and doesn’t have the Toyota brand name. Camry sits a bit more comfortably I think but I haven’t yet taken a test drive in the Sonata. I live in Israel so I do not get the mega warranty on the Sonata. It’s a three year warranty – same as the Camry. Please help. Thanks in advance!
A: Get the Camry…its way more stylish than the sonata…plus engine will last you years…camry all the way…no ? bout it
Q: My Hyundai Sonata 95 or 97 is really loud how do i fix it?
Hyundai Sonata is really loud when i accelerate is not a bad sound its just really loud how can i fix it without spending a lot of money?
A: You might have an exhaust leak. one of the exhaust components being broken. You’ll have to find out what you need and replace it. also, you can see if its possible to weld the spot.
Q: The alarm on my 2002 Hyundai Sonata is going off at irregular intervals.?
The alarm on my 2002 Hyundai Sonata is going off at irregular intervals. Is there a simple way to disengage the alarm system?
A: David… If you unplug the hood switch, you will leave the circuit open meaning that when locking the car, the hood indicates that is still open and will randomly set the alarm to go OFF (beeping). Easiest way is to lock the car with key alone or from the driver side door switch. When you lock with remote, you set the alarm ON. With key alone, there is no alarm activated. Commonly, on Sonata 2002 I have seen door switches broken. Check if door ajar sign is ON on dash while all doors are closed (apply to trunk light too).
Q: where is the Crank shaft position sensor on a hyundai sonata?
My car won’t start! I got a diag. computer and it told me that I had a bad Crank shaft position sensor, I have no idea where this is on my car and I would hate to start tearing into it blindly
it is a 2004 hyundai sonata 2.4 4,cycl.
Any help would be greatly appriciated
A: The sensor is going to be in the front of the engine near the harmonic dampener/ crank shaft pulley usually its mounted behind the pulley with one bolt you will see a harness going to it its usually pretty small.
Q: Can i put subwoofers in my 2004 hyundai sonata?
i want to put my 2-10′ sub-woofers in my 2004 hyundai sonata i just bought. do i HAVE to put a new deck in or can i wire them through the stock one?
A: You can wire them through the stock one, but they won’t sound good. You need an amplifier and a crossover. Hook the amp to the deck, then the crossover to the amp so the sounds coming out of it are split into high and low frequencies. Send the low ones to the subs, and the higher ones to your main speakers.
Q: Is a hyundai sonata a good investment?
I am wanting to buy a hyundai sonata, the most basic package with manual transmission and am wondering if anyone thinks this car is worth the 22000+ dollars. I thought it was a good car in the test drive. What are your opinions?
its the new 2011 model if that makes a difference
Thanks a lot guys. Sorry I should’ve mentioned im buying in Canada where the price is in canadian dollars and just the GL costs 22,649.
A: I bought a 2011 Sonata SE 4 weeks ago and I will say it is MORE car than I ever thought it would be. Comfortable, Stylish and Great Handling with the 18inch wheels and sport suspension
The GLS doesn’t have the 18 inch wheels or sport suspension but it is just as good as the SE and the Limited editions!
The 2.4L engine is awesome, lots of power with the 6speed auto and great gas mileage!
Hyundai has come a very long way in the past ten years and the quality of the car shows it! The warranty is unsurpassed with 10years/100,000 miles along with the other basic warranties that come with the car!
My SE listed for $24,800(USD) and it is well worth every penny! (Internet price was $22,480 and I added some options)
Q: Total repair cost parts and labor at Hyundai dealer to replace Fuel Sending Unit on 2000 Sonata GLS V6?
The gas nozzle stops and clicks every few seconds, and I can’t fill my gas tank. Gas gauge also does not work, it reads just under half a tank when it is full.
Anyone replace the fuel sending unit in their 2000 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6, and what was the total cost?
A: I would go to a web site called automd.com and it will estimate it all for you and even show you how to fix it your self and show you what all your going to be paying the shop to do it.
Q: how do you fix the speedometer on a 2001 hyundai sonata 4-cylinder?
we just replaced the output speed sensor on our 2001 hyundai sonata 4-cylinder but the speedometer still isnt working. someone said we have to take it in to a hyundai dealer to have some codes put in that will cost a fortune.
A: Would first try to disconnect the battery for one hour.
