Q: Can you I get a 2005 sonata key fob/remote reprogrammed for my 2006 hyundai sonata?
I got a used 2005 key fob from a Hyundai Sonata at a junkyard, I am hoping to get it reprogrammed at a dealer, but when I called the dealer he said he is not sure if it will work, but he would have to try it and see and either way I will be out $45, I do not want to pay $45 just to find out it doesn’t work.

If someone is sure it doesn’t work, I have a 2005 key fob for a Hyundai Sonata for sale, just pay me what I paid for it at junkyard.

A: No. Unfortunately, they are not interchangeable. 2005 model Sonata was last in its generation of so called: Korean Jaguar. 2006 model was the completely redesigned with a new look and power train, named new Sonata. I have tried this for a customer and I was not successful.
This might ruin your hopes but at least you know the reality.

Q: I really want to get 2011 Hyundai Sonata, but when?
I’ve been researching a lot about what car to get, and 2011 Hyundai Sonata seem to hit the mark! I’ve checked out the inside, and it’s as stunning as the exterior. Car gets great gas mileage comparable to compact sedans with very spacious interior. This car is getting great reviews, so I’m afraid that demand will be very high which may drive up the cost unlike other Hyundai models. Its MSRP is low compared to competitors, but I’m not planning on paying close to MSRP. If I want any deals on this, would it be best to wait until 2012s come out or wait for pre-owned? Is Hyundai known to do any big sales like Nissan’s Bottom Line sale?

A: i doubt Hyundai is going to do a big sales push on the new Sonata. they are doing deals on 2010 models, which are still on dealer lots. a lot of them. in my part of the country its $3000 off and or / 0% financing and all that. while the new car is in high demand, i wouldn’t expect the same. later in the year, no doubt. but weather thats a rebate, financing, or “factory to dealer” incentives, who knows? but i wouldn’t expect dealers to be making great deals on these cars atm. or going much lower then MSRP, if at all

if you really want one and want the best deal possible i think you’ll have to wait until production is ramped up a bit and you see more on the road. end of the model year is my guess. or as you said, perhaps a slightly used one now? those always start to pop up from here and there, and they may hit the sweet spot for you

for instance this black one with 150m found somewhere in NY. asking $18,000 but these cars used are few and far between atm

Q: Is trading in a car easy?
i have 2006 nissan sentra, and i want to go to this dealership and trade it in for a 2006 hyundai sonata, on sale for 8,000

what all will have to have, do, and how long will it take?

im only 17 so i dont know much. can i just trade my car in and then and then pay what ever is left on the new car monthly… im paying my car off monthly and i have 3,000 left to pay on it. my mom is saying i cant because she cant finance anything else. is there any way i can do this with out them.

(i only have about 300 in the bank)

A: From my experience you have to have the title of the vehicle which means it must be completly paid off before you can trade it in.

A dealer may be willing to use their financial department to give you a $3,000 loan to pay off the vehicle and add it to the loan for the Sonata or take it away from the trade in value of the Sentra.

My advice would be to sell the 2006 Sentra seperately. You can do this even though you don’t have the title by working with the buyer’s financer or if they’re paying the whole thing in cash you can sign a promissary note saying the title is effectively the buyers upon receipt of the money. Dealers give horrible trade-in values or if they give you a good trade-in value they inflate the price of the car you are purchasing to off-set the good trade-in value.

Q: 2009 Hyundai Sonata driven 49000 highway miles..is it normal or too much?
hi thrs a car for sale . a 2009sonata – 49k highway miles for $12,500…i want to know if the mileage is normal or too much.

A: Yes – a lot – but, highway miles ideally are the best since the engine is at operating temperature – so most of the important components are lubricated constantly.

Brakes are used little for that mileage.

The big deal is – oil changed regular? Transmission been changed at least once or lately? Tires original or?

Most average driven vehicles require major maintenance around 60K. Brakes – transmission fluid, tires, brake fluid change, coolant change.

It is probably in the same condition as one driven 25.000 (average driving)?

Would shoot for $11,500

Q: Need honest opinions on 2000 Saab 9-3 & 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
My husband found a Saab 9-3 for sale that is very nice w/ 105K miles. I honestly think the exterior design is ugly (no offense, I just prefer the looks of the Civic or Jetta) but the interior looks great and I hear they get great gas mileage, which is what my goal is. I just don’t know much about these vehicles other than all of the very good reviews I’ve read online. I’m looking for something that will last MANY miles and years to come w/ good gas mileage. Opinions would be great!! Also considering an 03 Sonata w/ 92K miles as well. From what I’ve read the Sonata has good ratings and gas mileage also…..any input is welcome on either of these vehicles. Thank you!

A: The Saab is rated “much worse than average” for reliability by Consumer Reports. That mirrors the experiences I’ve had in my shop. Run a million miles from that car, especially with 100,000 miles and 10 years old.

Go with the Sonata.

Q: There is this car for sale and I want the best opinion?
Would you purchase a 2004 Hyundai Sonata for $10,000? Miles are 80,000. If so why? If not why?

A: to many miles for the year and the price

Q: How much would you pay for a 2005 Hyundai Sonata?
This car is in great condition. It is the luxury model. Leather seats, wooden console, power locks and windows, sunroof/moonroof, am/fm radio, Cd Player and Cassette Player. It is blue in color and the sticker price was 22,000. It has less than 30,000 miles on it. Just wondering what I should sale it for. We owe 15,000 on it and I was wondering if we could get that or are we going to need to take a loss. We need a bigger vehicle for a growing family or else I would not be getting rid of it.

A: $12

Q: Does anyone know when the Sonata 2010 YG will go on sale in the U.S?
I’m about to purchase the Sonata 2009 GLS but I recently found out that Hyundai will be unveiling the newly designed Sonata 2010 in the United States! It almost looks like a Genesis!! I feel like if I get the 2009 Sonata, my car would appear so outdated when the new 2010 comes out. But because I’m doing the Cash for Clunker program, I don’t have enough time to wait around for the new model because funds may run out. So I was wondering if anyone knew the exact or estimate date they will arrive at dealerships. Some of the Hyundai dealerships I’ve been to already are cleaning out the Sonatas from their lot to prepare for the new model. I’m so excited!!

A: I have bad news for you…the reason that lots are low on the 09 Sonata is because the 2010 has not been released yet and production has stopped on the 09. HOWEVER, the YG Sonata will not be released until the 2011 model year.

The 2010 Sonata is a carryover model and will remain unchanged from the 09.

Q: Do you think this is a scam on Craigslist?
I don’t know if I should believe this person on craiglist that is selling this car:
http://jxn.craigslist.org/cto/1694480761.html I had emailed her to give me her address and phone number to go see the car and she replied saying:

Hi,

Thank you for being interested in buying my 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS, 8,842 miles , Transmission: Automatic, VIN: 5NPET46C69H538014.
It is in EXCELLENT condition; the body and paint are great, no scratches and no dents; the interior is clean; it has never been involved in an accident; comes with all the documents needed for registration and clear title.
My final price on it is 3,990. It is priced to sell fast !
My husband died one month ago and I decided to move closer to my parents(they are very old) in Canada and the car is here with me. As I am unable to travel in the near future and having no one to help me with the sale I decided to make this transaction through eBay. I believe this protects both buyer and seller and it’s the right way to do this.
So don’t get me wrong and don’t take it personally but I would prefer to secure the deal through eBay. Also because the car will be shipped from Canada to US I prefer to work with a third party in order to keep the both of us safe in this deal. I will be assured you will buy the car and you will be assured that you will receive it! Basically the money will be sent to them and they will keep the money until you receive the car and only after you inspect and drive it they will forward the money to me.

If you have other questions feel free to email.
Thank you!
(her name)

Can you please tell me what I should do. Should I go on ahead and buy the car or is this a SCAM?

A: SCAM. No 2009 Hyundai Sonata will sell for this amount. Someone wants badly your money. Please, don’t get involved. Its too got to be true. Its like a fish rod thrown at you. Don’t bite the bait.

Take my advise. I know these things as I do see them every day. Just walk away.

Best wishes
