Q: Does anyone know where I can find information on the materials or manufacturing processes of the BMW 5 series?
I am a mechanical design major in my senior year and am trying to locate information of the materials used in the new BMW 5 series.

UK. However this has nothing to do with lighting regs. All 5 series have these lights. If you look at the main beam light , look above it. You should see a small row of tiny bulbs, how do you switch them

A: they come on automatically when the headlights are on. they are little orange LED lights. i think there is 4 or 5 on each side. if they are not on they might be broken cause you don’t have to turn them on separately

Q: What car is better, a Mercedes E class or a BMW 5 series?
I want an all wheel drive car with navigation, but right now I am driving cars with the fabric instead of leather. So which car is a better transition for someone who is switching from fabric to leather? Also, which car would be better for five people in terms of the trunk and seating?

A: I personally would opt for the BMW, but only because I’m a BMW fan. There’s nothing wrong with a Mercedes, they are excellent cars as well. I have to question why you want all-wheel drive? Where do you live that road traction would be an issue? Unless you live where there is lots of snowfall yearly, or in mountainous terrain, you really don’t need all-wheel drive. They use more gas, and slightly more prone to mechanical wear issues. As far as the leather/fabric issue… you can get most any car with leather seating or fabric seating, don’t buy a certain car just because you want leather seating, that’s kind of silly. Do some research into the models of cars you are considering, then go to dealerships and sit in them, and ask questions about them, then you can make an educated choice about the car you buy! Q: What are the average servicing costs for a new BMW 5-series in the UK?
I’m considering purchasing a new 525i SE, but would like to look at all costs incurred over a 3 year period.
For the benefit of Smooth C, I’m asking about Service Costs, which definitely are not free within the BMW Warranty. I’m asking as I have a choice between funding the purchase myself or choosing a company car. To help me to decide, I want to consider all costs I would incur if funding the purchase myself. Thanks.

A: You may want to check with your BMW dealer. I just paid a little extra and have all service (brakes, rotors, oil changes) included at no additional cost til January 2009.

I can not drive more than 5 kilometers then it starts boiling.

A: take a look at the safety spec of the car then look on the option list to see what there is xeon lights are a good option

A: Yes your cost to maintain your vehicle will increase. This is due to the sport suspension, you will wear out tires much quicker. Also the tires on the sport package vehicle are often times more expensive. They are usually lower profile and wider in the rear. You can increase the life of the tires by maintaining tire pressure, and having a 4 wheel alignment about every 30 thousand miles max.

Q: Does anyone know if there is any exterior body style changes for the 2001-2003 BMW 5-Series?
Im thinking of purchasing a used BMW and prefer the 01-03 body styles. 525i or 530i Sport to be exact!

A: No. 2001-2003 5 Series BMW’s have no exterior differences except for different wheel choices.

Some of the things that were changed in 01 were wider kidney grilles, new headlights, tail lights and body side molding.

A: Do you not think that there will be loads of people looking for the same thing. It does not exist. Any seller will pitch the price at a level that they think they can get for it.

A: You will need to buy an iPod/aux adaptor for your car. USA Spec makes one, google PA12BMW. Costs about $100 unless you get one on clearance.
